A good show with a very nice flow in it! I like the version of 'Back for more' from Tavares as well, which is a bit slicker. And there's one from Jean Carn and Al Johnson, which is also good, but the one you played is the best one!

ReplyDeleteI do vaguely remember the Tavares version but love the Al Johnson one too. Although for me Leo Sunshipp's great original is king! In fact I love everything they ever recorded - If only fate had been a Little kinder to them!
I do agree with you about the Gilberto Gil track - Which was quite big in London in the early 80's! - but am sure EWF were doing it first!
OK, I thought so. Maurice White is the one and only originator.
